Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
GolfDx ("we", "us") is operated by a sole trader based in Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains what information we collect when you use GolfDx, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we collect
Assessment answers and reports. When you complete the GolfDx assessment, your answers and the resulting report are stored locally in your own web browser (using browser storage). They are not transmitted to us and we cannot read them. If you clear your browser data, that information is deleted and cannot be recovered by us.
Payment information. If you choose to subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address, name (if provided) and payment details directly. We never receive or store your full card number. We can see, through our Stripe dashboard, your email address, subscription status, and payment history. Stripe's own privacy policy governs their handling of that information: stripe.com/privacy.
Correspondence. If you email us, we hold that email and your address so we can reply and provide support.
Technical information. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability purposes.
2. How we use information
- To provide the GolfDx service and your subscription
- To take payment and issue receipts (via Stripe)
- To send you your access code and respond to support requests
- To keep the service secure and working properly
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us operate GolfDx:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery
These providers may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where required by law.
4. Third-party links
Drill cards may link to demonstration videos on YouTube. When you follow such a link you leave GolfDx and YouTube's own privacy policy applies. We do not embed YouTube tracking within GolfDx itself.
5. Data retention
Assessment data lives in your browser and is under your control — clear your browser storage and it is gone. Payment and subscription records held by Stripe are retained as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally at least five years under Australian law). Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed.
6. Security
We use reputable providers and encrypted connections (HTTPS). Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not hold the information that would be most sensitive if breached — we never have your card details.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong
- delete your information, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations
Email hello@golfdx.app and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
8. Children
GolfDx is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be notified on this page.
